Devblog #2

Devblog #2 took me longer than I hoped. Primarily due to health issues, many things were pushed forward. Thankfully things are improving now, and I’m picking up the game development. I have a lot of exciting news in this devblog, so make sure you stick around to the end!

Exciting partnership

I’m happy to announce that there is a very exciting partnership between the game and a USA-based modified pulling team. Although I can’t reveal too many details yet, I can say that they are going to run a Tractor Pulling Simulator-themed graphics wrap on their tractor during the 2022 season!

More details are to be announced soon! At the moment, we’re working closely together to get to a final design. Once the wrap is applied a big announcement will be made from both our side, as well as the modified team’s side.

Starter level

In the meantime, I took a class at the Computer Graphics Master Academy for level design and the game engine in general. Thankfully, we were allowed to choose our own project so naturally, I chose to work on the starter level for the game so I could both learn and work on the game simultaneously.

It was an intensive 6-week class, so I only got to finish the outside of the level but I still made a lot of progress during these six weeks. The idea is that you start at an old abandoned barn that you inherited. Inside the barn is an old pulling tractor that needs fixing before you can actually pull it. Once you progress in the game you can fix the barn, and eventually, move to a more professional place to work on your tractor(s).

New logo

You might’ve noticed when visiting the website: We have a brand new logo!  The old logo was a temporary one that was created from a default template. Which meant there were tons of similar logos out there.

So we needed a new, and unique logo associated with the game. Many thanks to Angry Duck Graphics for designing and realizing our new logo!

Website updates

The website had quite a few updates as well. I’ve done some design changes to match the new logo design. I will continue to make further tweaks to have everything streamlined.

The biggest change has been made to the contributor page. While it first was a simple list, we’ve now renamed it to the Game Partners page and it has all confirmed partners listed! They are neatly sorted by region and pulling class, including social links and a photo/logo if available.

I will do more updates soon. I need to catch up with the partner announcements and update the info about the game concept. Some other pages will be revamped in the near future as well to fit to the current state of the game.

Looking for more partnerships

Since the partners are nicely sorted per class now, it’s becoming clear for which classes we still need additional partnerships. Of course, anyone is more than welcome to partner with the game. However, the listed classes below have the highest priority at the moment:

American classes

  • Hot Farm/Super Farm
  • Prostocks (There’s plenty of limited prostocks, but only 1 prostock so far)
  • Superstock
  • Multi-engine Modifieds
  • Mini’s
  • Trucks
  • Pulling sleds

European classes

  • Superfarm 4,5T
  • Superstock
  • Light Superstock
  • Modified 3,5T
  • Two Wheel Drive
  • Mini’s
  • Trucks
  • Pulling Sleds

Interested? Please check out our Contribute page for more info about joining the project.

Final word

I promise the next devblog won’t take as long as this one! There are many exciting things happening for the game in the background! Thanks to everyone for their continued support for the project, I’m super excited for what’s to come in the coming weeks & months.
